The PAVIA project aims to strengthen pharmacovigilance (PV) in four African countries

PhArmacoVIgilance Africa (PAVIA) is a consortium which has recently been funded by the European Developing countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP). The PAVIA project aims to strengthen pharmacovigilance (PV) in four African countries: Ethiopia, Nigeria, Swaziland and Tanzania. To achieve this aim, collaborative support will be harnessed across several institutions in Europe and Africa. Ethiopian referee Bamlak Tessema who is also a researcher at Armauer Hansen Research Institute has been selected by FIFA to officiate at the 2018 World Cup which will be held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018.

The 21st World TB Day has been commemorated in Ethiopia on March 24, 2018 with a theme “Leaders play vital role to End TB”. As in the past years, AHRI takes this initiative to disseminate knowledge about TB: overall disease transmission, clinical presentations, public health measures and interventions to control the disease.
