Research Ethics Training was conducted successfully

According to the national as well as international guidelines on the conduct of research, all research involving human participants should be conducted in a manner respecting the safety, wellbeing and rights of participants. Cognizant to these principles, AHRI has a longstanding practice of providing in-house training on research ethics for different stakeholders throughout the Country including post-graduate students, new and existing IRB members to build capacity as well as ensure the conduct of scientifically and ethically sound research.

Merck in partnership with UNESCO, African Union, Ethiopia Ministry of Health, University of Cambridge and Institute Pasteur International successfully held the second edition of UNESCO-Merck Africa Research Summit (UNESCO-MARS) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The aim of the 2016 Summit was to empower Women in Research with the key focus on ‘Infectious Diseases and Women Health’.
AHRI hosts intern students from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU)

As one of its strategic objectives, AHRI provides training and internship opportunity on a regular basis for postgraduate and undergraduate students coming from universities nationwide. The visiting candidates are registered their host universities on various disciplines of biomedical and health related biotechnology. Facility provision and specific mentorship trainings are regularly provided for postgraduate students throughout the year as part of research affiliations/attachments to the Institute.
