AHRI hosts intern students from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU)

As one of its strategic objectives, AHRI provides training and internship opportunity on a regular basis for postgraduate and undergraduate students coming from universities nationwide. The visiting candidates are registered their host universities on various disciplines of biomedical and health related biotechnology. Facility provision and specific mentorship trainings are regularly provided for postgraduate students throughout the year as part of research affiliations/attachments to the Institute. Undergraduate students, trainings on specific health related methodologies are provided during summer program. This summer, AHRI hosted eight students from Biotechnology Department of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) as part of their apprenticeship/internship program. The students are being under training on different health related biotechs including techniques in molecular biology, immunology, bacteriology and pathology. The training will last for two months (July 01-August 30, 2016). During these attachment periods, students will be able to acquire some technical skills and learn how to design and conduct experiments with senior, post-doctoral scientists and other researchers working in the Institute.
