Job Description

The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian
and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got
its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy
bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for
prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through
applied and basic biomedical research and training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Team Leader II is being accountable to the Partnership, Planning &
Grant Management Director; and perform day to day activities and other related activities.
1. Aim of job title
· Effort on achievement of plan versus performance through monitoring and evaluation.
· Plan and lead project with budget limit from 50 million up to 200 million Birr.
2. Job title activities and result
Result 1- Lead and design team work plan
· Plan, Monitor, evaluate and lead the directorate plan.
· Evaluate the department staffs work plan and assessment of staffs performance.
· Staffs performance evaluation and feedback
· Avail human and logistic resource for implementation of department outputs
· Build Capacity of staffs
Result 2- Preparation of institutional plan
· Develop institutional annual plan through consultative approach of departments
· Preparation of plan action plan
· Development of plan of action for budget
· Conduct consultative meeting on plan with stakeholders
Result 3- Monitoring, evaluation of plan, budget and performance of the institution
· Preparation of budget for conducting planning session and transfer for departments.
· Mentoring departments on planning session.
· Problem identification and development of theory of change/ logical framework for performance
· Feedback generation for department on poor performance
Job Requirement
Education: BA in Economics, Management, Business Management, Geography, Social Science
Experience: 8 years of experience in Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation
