An Ethiopia–Brazil Business Forum aimed at further strengthening investment and economic cooperation between Ethiopia and Brazil was held in Addis Ababa.
On the sidelines of the forum’s bilateral business discussions, Messay Woldemariam (Asst. Professor), Deputy Director General and Dr. Dereje Nigussie, Director, AHRI held a productive meeting with representatives of Brazilian pharmaceutical manufacturers, particularly delegations from Fiocruz and the Butantan Institute.
During the discussion, Messay Woldemariam (Asst. Professor), Deputy Director Generalighl highted the Ethiopian government’s strong commitment to the pharmaceutical sector, the existing opportunities, and the ongoing work at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) in pharmaceutical industry development, vaccine research and development, strengthening the bioequivalence center, and clinical trials.
Furthermore, by identifying areas for joint collaboration in research and development as well as investment, both sides reached a mutual understanding to work together and strengthen cooperation going forward.
