Following the recent inauguration of AHRI’s modern Research and Development Complex by H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, AHRI has taken another important step toward strengthening Ethiopia’s and Africa’s pharmaceutical research, bioequivalence, and regulatory science capacity.
AHRI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Glocare Labs Private Limited, a sister company of Glocare Pharma Manufacturing PLC Ethiopia, following the recent visit of Dr. A.R. Venkatesh, CEO of Glocare Pharma Manufacturing PLC Ethiopia, to AHRI’s newly established Bioequivalence and Bioanalytical Center.
During the visit, the CEO of Glocare Labs Private Limited, an established Contract Research Organization (CRO) in India, expressed strong appreciation for AHRI’s modern facility and affirmed its interest to collaborate with AHRI in bioequivalence and bioavailability studies, bioanalytical services, CRO partnership, technology exchange, human resource development, and broader pharmaceutical quality strengthening.
On behalf of AHRI, Prof. Afework Kassu, Director General of AHRI, welcomed the partnership and emphasized that this is the right time to build a strategic collaboration in BE/BA and beyond. He further highlighted the importance of institutional partnership, human resource exchange, and joint efforts to strengthen the quality, safety, and competitiveness of pharmaceutical products in Ethiopia and across Africa.
This MoU marks an important milestone in translating AHRI’s expanded mandate and modern infrastructure into practical partnerships that support local pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory readiness, and continental health security.
