Centered around the theme “THE BIGGER PICTURE: AHRI FOR ETHIOPIA’S HOLISTIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT”, the newly appointed Director-General of AHRI, Prof. Afework Kassu on Monday, January 31, 2022, held an Introductory Meeting with AHRI Management.
Following his presentation of academic credentials and vast work experiences, Prof. Afework sensitized the management to move in one accord as “One AHRI family” that continually strives for excellence in areas of Research, Innovation, Knowledge, and Technology Transfer for better health.
“For us to achieve and surpass our vision, we must have a common/ shared vision by all in conjunction with professionalism, continuous growth, teamwork, strengthened hunting capacity for grants and funds, strengthened collaborations and partnerships, strengthened internal institutional capacity, and efficient communication,” underlined Prof. Afework as he explained the pathway for the future success of the institute.
In a similar fashion, the management directors gave a cordial welcome to Prof. Afework as they expressed their joy over his appointment for the role.
As the Director-General fully acquaints himself with the institute, he has expressed that he looks forward to meeting with each and every staff member of all directorates, in the coming weeks.
