About TDRGEN
For over 40 years, TDR has been working hard in fighting diseases of poverty. TDR has engaged researchers and experts from all over the world in research and capacity building to enhance disease prevention and control efforts
TDR Global is a worldwide network of scientists and experts who have been working with TDR at various capacities (Grantee, Fellowship, Mentor etc.,) on infectious diseases of poverty. Through TDR Global plat form, each individual brings unique knowledge and expertise and form a vibrant scientific community. TDR Global is also committed to driving and encouraging mentoring of young scientists and researchers, capacity building and fostering research collaborations, partnership and networking.
The TDR Global Ethiopian node here after called the TDRGEN is a chapter of the TDR Global established by Ethiopian professionals willing to create a network of collaborative mechanism to conduct activities as per the objectives and goals of the node. TDRGEN promotes TDR Global’s initiatives focusing on local activities by identifying local gaps, needs and priorities on capacity building, mentorship and collaboration.
Goal and Objectives of the TDRGEN
The goal of the TDRGEN is to mobilize the Ethiopian TDR community to forge collaboration among themselves and provide global engagement opportunities for members and will act as liaison with the TDR Global secretariat and the local and regional TDR Global communities.
Vision
To see Ethiopia free of diseases of poverty through Improving the health and well-being of people by controlling diseases of poverty through research and innovation.”
Mission
To support effective and innovative global health research and innovation, through strengthening the research capacity on diseases of poverty in Ethiopia, and promoting the translation of evidence into policy and practice that reduce the burden of infectious diseases and build resilience in the most vulnerable populations.
