Empowering Ethiopian Researchers through Bioinformatics Training (AHRI, Addis Ababa,Ethiopia)
A two-week bioinformatics training program concluded on October 18 at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI).The training, made possible through the Development Cooperation Framework Agreement 5 (FA5) Ethiopia project funded by the Belgian government, aimed to equip Ethiopian researchers with essential bioinformatics skills.
Trainees in the class
Participants, selected based on their competitive applications and foundational molecular biology knowledge, represented AHRI, the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), Jimma University, and Gondar University.
Trainers
The training was delivered by a team of experienced researchers from the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM), Antwerp University (AU) in Belgium and AHRI. By providing these vital skills, the training equips Ethiopian researchers to analyze and interpret different kinds genomic data, ultimately contributing to advancements in public health and medical research within the country.
