The 21st World TB Day has been commemorated in Ethiopia on March 24, 2018 with a theme “Leaders play vital role to End TB”. As in the past years, AHRI takes this initiative to disseminate knowledge about TB: overall disease transmission, clinical presentations, public health measures and interventions to control the disease. On this date, the event was celebrated at AHRI as an open day to communities surrounding ALERT (Idir communities), high ranking secondary school science students and school teachers, recruited from 8 schools located around ALERT and other stakeholders within the Institute. The visit was held through open lab exhibition and selected posters presentations, showing different TB research activities within AHRI. About 100 participants attended the event.
