Dr Abraham Aseffa Is Honored With The African Union Kwame Nkrumah Continental Award For Scientific Excellence

The African Union Commission (AUC) awards to top African scientists for their achievements and valuable discoveries and findings in science, technology and innovation annually. African Union Kwame Nkrumah Continental Award for Scientific Excellence (AUKNASE) reflects and underscores a success story and the critical role of science, technology and innovation in the development and integration of Africa. Under this program prizes are awarded to top African scientists in each of the following two sectors: Life and Earth Science and innovation and Basic Science, Technology and Innovation at the national, regional and continental levels. AUC indicated that for the 2020 Edition, the jury of the award, composed of imminent African scientists and researchers, have selected two laureates for continental awards including Dr Abraham Aseffa for life and Earth Sciences Category.

Usually, this award ceremony happens during the Summit of Heads of States and Government, but for the obvious reason AUC has awarded this year virtually on 26th February 2021.

On behalf of AHRI, we extend warm congratulations to Dr Abraham Asefa.
