AHRI’s Top Notch Researcher Receives A Lifetime Achievement Award At The 24th Health Sector Annual Review Meeting

The 24th Health Sector  Annual Review Meeting (ARM) under the theme ” Equitable and Quality Health Services for all” has successfully been held at the Hawassa, Sidama Region.

The ARM meeting which was held from October 20-21, 2022 was led by H.E Dr. Liya Tadesse, Minister of Health and was graced by Sidama Region’s President, H.E Desta Ledamo, H.E Dr. Dereje  Deguma (State Minister of Health), AHRI Delegates Prof. Afework Kassu (AHRI- Director General), Mrs. Yamerot Andualem( Deputy Director General for Admin and Development), Health Sector Higher Officials and Health Sector partner organizations.

During the review meeting,  Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to health sector professionals in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the health sector. AHRI’s Senior Researcher, Dr. Wude Mihret, in recognition of her extensive work in Bacterial and Viral Diseases research such as that in Meningitis, received the Lifetime  Achievement award.

Similarly, our close colleagues from ALERT Comprehensive Hospital, Dr. Tsehaynesh Lema and Dr. Solomon Busa received the award for their unreserved efforts in research such as leprosy and optical service delivery respectively.
